Air mattress noise often comes from friction with the floor, movement between bedding layers, internal air chambers, or an electric pump. First identify whether the sound comes from the base, upper surface, valve, seams, or pump.
Reduce Noise During Use
Place the mattress on a clean, level surface and add a non-slip mat, rug, foam pad, or folded blanket underneath. Use a fitted sheet or thin topper to reduce surface friction. Inflate the bed to the recommended firmness, since underinflation increases movement while excessive pressure may stress the seams.
Check that the valve is fully closed and inspect for small leaks or distortion. Stable air pressure helps reduce squeaking and shifting.
ASTM D1894-24 measures static and kinetic friction in plastic film and sheeting, showing why surface texture affects sliding behavior. ISO 3744:2025 provides methods for determining sound power levels and can support repeatable electric pump noise testing.
Manufacturer Control
A direct manufacturer can control material formulation, flocking texture, chamber structure, welding quality, valve fit, and pump selection. A trader depends more on external factories for these details.
With over 20 years of manufacturing experience, three production bases, and sales coverage in more than 110 markets, we support OEM and ODM projects from specification review and sample testing to production and export packing. Quality checkpoints include material inspection, weld strength, air retention, valve sealing, pump operation, movement noise, and carton protection.
Project Sourcing Checklist
Confirm material, thickness, dimensions, internal structure, flocked finish, valve type, pump voltage, load rating, noise expectations, packaging, and market requirements. For bulk supply, approve a reference sample and define a test method before production. REACH requirements, electrical compliance, warning labels, transport documents, and spare parts should also be reviewed.
